Poasito, Alajuela · Costa Rica
Hiking trails, a waterfall, and authentic Costa Rican food in the heart of the mountains.
Walk through the lush flora of Poás Volcano. Each trail covers 5 km through mountain streams, cloud forest, and breathtaking highland views.
An open-field trail through pastures and countryside with panoramic views throughout. You can spot the waterfall from the path, along with grazing cattle and mountain scenery. Great for those who want breathtaking views without a highly technical route.
A technical adventure through primary cloud forest where you can observe the waterfall along the way. Expect steeper terrain and possible muddy sections, but the reward is total immersion in Costa Rican cloud forest: birds, native flora, and unforgettable scenery.
At the start of the trail, a mountain waterfall of pure water awaits. The sound, the cool forest air, and the sheer beauty make this the highlight of every visit.
After the hike, nothing beats a casado, sopa negra, or fresh gallo pinto. Our restaurant uses local, fresh ingredients to serve the best of Costa Rican cuisine.
A glimpse of what awaits you at Escape Poasito.
For groups of 15 or more we offer special packages with a complimentary drink and a discounted rate. All trails are self-guided. Perfect for corporate outings, celebrations, or travel groups.
