La Escapadita Waterfall in Poasito, Alajuela
La Escapadita is the waterfall at Escape Poasito: natural spring water in the middle of the forest, just 1 km from the entrance and about a 15-minute walk.

How to reach the waterfall
The waterfall is 1 km from the entrance, about a 15-minute walk. The route starts the same for the Las Vacas Trail and the Jilguero Trail: at 1 km there is a detour that takes you in to the waterfall, and at about 2 km is where the two trails split. You can already see the waterfall from that first stretch, so you don't need a long hike to get to know it. The visit is included in the same ticket as the trails.
Can you swim at La Escapadita?
Yes, you can swim, but the water is ice cold: it comes from a natural mountain spring. If it has rained a lot, we don't recommend it because of the risk. If you are unsure that day, message us on WhatsApp before you come and we'll tell you how it looks.
